Skiing in the Chamonix Valley
We visit the apartment as often as school holidays permit. The variety of skiing in the Chamonix valley is second to none.

Nearly 20 years on after our first visit, there's still plenty to challenge us adults, while Jodie & Sam started skiing at an early age (Sam was 2! - and skied La Herse at the age of 3!) and we found plenty of places to take them in most conditions.

Mountain Biking in the Chamonix Valley
As with so many activities, mountain biking, or as the French call it VTT, in the Chamonix offers something for everyone.

At the more sedate end of the extremes, try a gentle descent by the Arve from Argentiere to Chamonix. Stop for ice creams and then catch the train home again.

At the other extreme, use the telepherique for uplift and then rip it up on some of the best tracks and biggest descents in the Alps.

A ski traverse of the Classic Haute Route
A selection of photos from a ski traverse of the Classic Haute Route in early April 2011. Starting from Argentiere, in the Chamonix Valley, and finishing in Zermatt some 6 days later, this is the classic ski mountaineering trip.
